ARA-290 | 10mg
Researching Tissue Repair, Inflammation, and Neuroprotection
What It Does
ARA-290 is an engineered peptide being studied for its ability to activate innate repair pathways without the erythropoietic effects of its parent molecule. It is a focus in research exploring nerve repair, inflammatory modulation, and tissue protection.
What Researchers Explore
Technical Background
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino acid peptide derived from the helix B surface domain of erythropoietin, with a molecular weight of 1,257 Da. It selectively binds the innate repair receptor (IRR), a heteromeric complex of the erythropoietin receptor (EPO-R) and CD131.
Unlike full-length erythropoietin, ARA-290 does not stimulate red blood cell production. Research indicates it retains tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory activity through IRR-mediated signaling pathways. Clinical studies have shown increases in corneal nerve fiber density and improvements in neuropathic pain models.
